Dame Kelly Holmes Caught Short In Six-hour M25 Traffic Jam And Has To Wee Beside Motorway

OLYMPIC champion Dame Kelly Holmes has revealed she was forced to wee at the side of the road after she was stuck in a six-hour M25 traffic jam.

The 48-year-old runner was one of hundreds of drivers stranded on the motorway after a lorry crash caused huge tailbacks yesterday.

She took to Twitter to reveal her anguish after being caught short in the six-hour standstill close to the Dartford Crossing.

Dame Kelly said: “”So, what happens when your meant to be somewhere an hour ago and can’t because there is a two hour delay with a standstill, nowhere to go, nowhere to divert, in bright red trousers, in a bright blue car, Kelly Holmes and you want the loo…desperately. CRY!!!”

She later revealed she was forced to squat at the side of the road – but was given toilet roll and hand wipes from a “lovely traffic control guy”.

Dame Kelly wrote: “Sorry but I had to go! That’s one thing a runner does well and doesn’t care about – squatting! (It was just a wee before you start with the emojis).”

They added: “Moral of the story go to the loo before you leave you depart on your journey. X (sic).”
