In the images posted to the official Coronation Street Instagram page, eagle-eyed followers spotted a sign on the door of the pub reading, “Norris’s Leaving Party”.

Fans were delighted to see the sassy character back in Weatherfield but some were left a little sad though as the image revealed he was filming his leaving party, confirming his return wouldn’t be permanent.

One wrote: “Missed you Norris…”

Another added: “Norris back! Yay”

Malcolm, who plays Norris Cole in the ITV soap, was forced to take a break after suffering a heart attack last year.

However in February his co-star Dolly-Rose Campbell revealed the actor would be making a return to the famous cobbles.

She told the Daily Star: “He looks great. He is looking really healthy. He’s really well.”

He recently told how his life was saved by the surgery he had, adding: “Fortunately I didn’t realise how bad it was. I was dying.”

Norris is expected to back for a limited time in May.
