He told OK! magazine: “I won’t stay for years. There are other roles I’d like to do.”

It comes after James revealed that he and his girlfriend Sophie Coates were forced to halt their plans to get married after she fell pregnant just ONE MONTH after they started trying for a baby.

James, 27, has been with Sophie for three years and has played Ali Neeson in the ITV soap since last year.

The father-to-be explained why he and Sophie aren’t yet engaged.

“I was going to ask Sophie in Australia when we were visiting my family last November but then we found out we were expecting.”

Sophie added: “We’d only recently said we’d properly start trying.

“And a month later we fell pregnant.”
