CORONATION Street star James Burrow has hinted he’s quitting the soap.
The actor, who plays Ali Neeson, says he won’t stay on the show forever – just a few weeks after he reprised his role after an extended break from the cobbles.
He told OK! magazine: “I won’t stay for years. There are other roles I’d like to do.”
It comes after James revealed that he and his girlfriend Sophie Coates were forced to halt their plans to get married after she fell pregnant just ONE MONTH after they started trying for a baby.
James, 27, has been with Sophie for three years and has played Ali Neeson in the ITV soap since last year.
The father-to-be explained why he and Sophie aren’t yet engaged.
He said: “I’d liked to have got engaged before now.
“I was going to ask Sophie in Australia when we were visiting my family last November but then we found out we were expecting.”
Sophie added: “We’d only recently said we’d properly start trying.
“And a month later we fell pregnant.”
The actor went on to reveal that his Corrie co-star Kym Marsh was the first person he told.
He shared: “She got really excited and gave me a massive hug and said I’d be a great dad.”
James and Sophie are expecting a little girl, with James admitting that he “can’t wait to meet her” as he shared his excitement at becoming a dad for the first time.
The loved-up couple announced their pregnancy in October last year, with James sharing a photo of the baby scan to his Instagram page at the time.
