Coronation Street viewers in awe as Peter Barlow saves son Simon’s life with daring leap onto a burning boat

CORONATION Street viewers were left in awe of Peter Barlow tonight as he saved son Simon’s life with a daring leap onto a burning boat.

The troubled teen clashed with his dad in the first part of tonight’s double bill after discovering Peter planned to bring girlfriend Abi along with him on their trip.

As he sulked beside the boat, his pals Aadi and Asha Alahan arrived and asked if they could have a look around.

But their fun turned into a nightmare when the vessel caught fire after Aadi left a lantern on the side as he left, not realising it was still lit.

As The Sun revealed last year, Roy is responsible for the fire, after sitting down and not realising he had knocked the lantern over, causing it to start.

Simon ended up trapped on board after he put his headphones in and failed to realise what was happening around him before it got out of hand.

Risking his own life, dad Peter channelled his inner James Bond to launch himself onto the deck and save his son.

Viewers took to Twitter to comment on the scenes, with one writing: “Peter saving Simon [love heart emojis]

Another added: “Peter Barlow, you absolute hero.”

While a third tweeted: “oh my god peter the hero.”
