Underworld is thrown into chaos in Coronation Street next week when its two owners – Carla Connor and Nick Tilsley – are unable to run the business.

Carla – who fans of the ITV soap will see suffer a devastating breakdown this week – will be moved to a hospital in Cardiff, while Nick is arrested for theft and faces court.

Nick’s sister, Sarah Platt, is furious with him as it begins to look more and more like he was involved in an insurance scam which caused the factory roof to collapse.

Her ex-boyfriend, Gary Windass, is also quick to remind everyone that Nick had the stolen Health and Safety report.

Sarah – who’s played by Tina O’Brien – tells her brother that she wants nothing more to do with him and that she’ll be running Underworld from now on.

Nick’s girlfriend, Leanne Battersby, is less than impressed by Sarah’s disloyalty to her brother and fumes at Sarah, telling her that she doesn’t even have the authority to pay the staff their wages, let alone anything else.

She hits her first bump in the road when Leanne is proved right and she struggles to find the money to pay the workers.

Sarah is left feeling uneasy, but grateful when he hands her a wad of money and reveals he sold everyone back their passports that were stolen by loan shark Rick Neeson.

Later, Sarah accepts a drink from Adam Barlow – Sam Robertson – who tells her he’s impressed with her and that none of the girls he met in Italy were a patch on her.

Sarah laps up his flattery, but is Adam up to something?

Underworld is the legacy of his dead dad Mike Baldwin after all…
