THINGS go from bad to worse for Gary Windass in Coronation Street next week when the builder is attacked and robbed by vile loan shark Rick Neelan.
The vicious beating comes after girlfriend Sarah Platt – played by Tina O’Brien – discovers that evil Rick has been in her house and even played with her baby son, Harry.
Seb Franklin then comes across a battered and bruised Gary at the builder’s yard and Gary tells him his van and tools have been nicked too.
Later Sarah – furious about Gary putting her family in danger – tells her daughter Bethany that she wishes she’d never got involved with him.
Gary begs Bethany to help him talk Sarah round, convinced that they can still make their relationship work.
Sarah reluctantly agrees to meet Gary for a drink and listens when he tells her how sorry he is for ever getting involved with Rick in the first place.
But will she be able to forgive him for inviting the loan shark into their home?
It’s not looking good for Gary though. Actor Mikey North revealed to The Sun Online last week that his character could end up being KILLED by Rick and that the loan shark is an even worse villain than serial killer Pat Phelan!
Speaking to The Sun Online’s Soap Bubble, he admitted: “I’ve always said, the amount of Platt’s boyfriends and husbands that have died, it’s probably got to be me next, but I’ve had a good run!”
Mikey, 32, believes Rick is just as dangerous as serial killer Pat Phelan, but is more likeable.

“I quite like the character Rick, the way he’s written, it’s almost like the likeable scary bad guy,” Mikey told us.
“He’s got some pretty decent one liners whereas Pat was pretty much bad through and through, so I think there’s a bit more to like about Rick, but I wouldn’t mess with him.”
Corrie fans have already seen ruthless Rick threaten Sarah and her family if Gary doesn’t keep working to pay off his debt.
