Coronation Street fans worried Shona Ramsey will die like Kylie and Tina now she’s engaged to ‘cursed’ David Platt

CORONATION Street fans are worried Shona Ramsey will end up dead now that she’s engaged to David Platt.

Viewers fear Shona – played by actress Julia Goulding – will follow in the footsteps of David’s tragic wife Kylie and girlfriend Tina McIntyre.

Shona accepted David’s proposal in tonight’s Corrie

Kylie was murdered by Shona’s son Clayton, and it’s feared Shona will now meet the same fate.

Viewers took to Twitter to speculate what will happen to Shona after David popped the question tonight.

One wrote: “Aww David and Shona! How long will this last?? #corrie”.

Another said: “Oh my god, Shona!! David’s cursed! Don’t do it!!”

Shona was kidnapped by her own son

A third quipped: “Think Shona will regret marrying into UK’s answer to the Manson’s #corrie”.

Earlier in the week, Shona was kidnapped and held hostage by Clayton – but she managed to escape tragedy by stabbing him.

Last October, Julia hinted at her current storyline, revealing the Platt family were set for a “dramatic” plot.

She said: “There are some really good stories coming up for Shona, and obviously I can’t tell you much about them.

Shona came out of the house bleeding – and it initially looked like she’d been stabbed, but it was later revealed that she actually stabbed her son

“But it’s been nice to have some light relief since the rape storyline, so I’m really looking forward to getting back into the nitty gritty drama.

“It’s nice to be able to do both.

“I’d like to see her go off the rails again. From what she came in as I’ve been allowed to explore so many different colours to her personality.

“I’d be excited to get a bit bad again.”

Julia discussed her story on This Morning earlier this week
Rex Features

Speaking on This Morning earlier this week, Julia revealed that she pinches herself “every single day” she is shooting Corrie scenes because she has been a fan of the soap her whole life.

She said: “I asked my mum to take me to the set for my fifth birthday. We watched it, and still do, together.

“Ever since I can remember I knew I wanted to become an actor and I was like, ‘Mummy, please take me to the set.’ And she did.

“Every single day I pinch myself.”
