Coronation Street fans in hysterics as show brings back imaginary search engine ‘voggle’ for Vicky’s pregnancy scene

CORONATION Street fans were in hysterics as the show brought back fake search engine Voggle for Vicky’s pregnancy scare.

Heartbroken Vicky, played by Kerri Quinn, was looking up abortion clinics after being dumped by Robert [Tristan John Gemmill] – but viewers were distracted by the off-brand website.

Voggle has been used in Weatherfield since 2010

The site has been shown regularly over the years, with both Nick Tisley and David Platt looking things up on the faux search engine over the years.

Taking to Twitter, one tickled fan wrote: “Ah yes, Voggle, that popular search engine.”

A second wrote: “I always Voggle my symptoms.”

Another tweeted the show, querying: “When Beth told Kirk to Google something recently why didn’t she tell him to Voggle it?”

Corrie have used Voggle since 2010 as they are unable to show unlicensed brands.

The ITV soap only features brands that have a Product Placement deal with them, such as Co-Op and Costa, who advertise with them and have branches on the new set.

Although the Voggle search engine is not real, fans previously realised that the URL does redirect to the ITV Hub website.

One fan observed at the time: “A nice touch.

The ITV soap does have placement deals with Costa and Co-Op

“But a better touch would have been for it to toggle back to the ITV Corrie website, I feel.”

Weatherfield’s Vicky fell pregnant with Robert’s baby when they enjoyed a brief fling after he split from Michelle.

Robert is now keen to pursue his relationship with Michelle, while begging his lover not to terminate the pregnancy.

Yesterday, actress Kerri revealed that the Lothario will try and maintain a double life for as long as possible.

She told Lorraine: “He is going to start to lead a double life.”

The actress added: “Can you imagine when [Michelle] finds out? It’s going to be great.”
