CHELSEA star Marcos Alonso has revealed he honed his skills on the pitch by practicing with a crushed Coke can as a child.
Defensive ace Alonso has won the Premier League and FA Cup during his two-and-a-half years at Stamford Bridge.
And he was rewarded with a new five-year contract earlier this season.
Despite enduring a rocky term under Maurizio Sarri, Alonso is still regarded as one of the leading full-backs in English football.
And he has now unveiled the secret skill which set him up for life at the top.
Speaking to Chelsea’s official website, Alonso said: “When I played football with my friends, if we didn’t have a ball I remember we used to play with a crushed can of Coke.
“We would try and make it as close as possible to a football. We would play games for hours with it. Anything would do!”

Alonso has also admitted he started off life at a winger, becoming a left-back later in his career due to injuries.
Alonso added: “When I signed for Real Madrid I was a winger, and then two or three years after I had to play left-back because of injuries.
“I did very well, and I had a chance to go to the second team and play left-back, and that’s where I stayed.”
