It has been a week of turmoil in the schedules, with Holby City canned because of the Brexit vote, EastEnders pulled for Comic Relief and Loose Women replaced by horseracing.

Tonight’s BBC One line-up being cleared from 7.30pm until 10pm has prompted fury from fed-up fans.

One tweeted: “This week the #TV has been awful for programs taken off.

“1st #LooseWomen then #holby, #eastenders tonight (yeh I know there were 2 episodes on last night), & now I’ve looked at the TV mag for tomorrow & theres no #Casualty cos of the #football 🤬 utter #TVfail.”

Another insisted the BBC should shunt its sporting coverage elsewhere and leave the main channels alone.

They fumed: “With the price of a TV license being £150, it’s about time the BBC launched a sports channel.

“Huns, I don’t want to watch overpaid ‘men’ kick a football about tomorrow, I want the usual All Together Now and Casualty.”

There has already been upset because of political turmoil at Westminster that saw Theresa May’s Brexit deal knock hit drama Holby off screens.

Another insisted: “Why are Holby & Casualty shifted & shunted around & cancelled at the last moment for politics, football & tennis from Wimbledon ?

“Year after bl**dy year. No one cares or seems answerable either. 😤.”

A double bill of Holby City will now air on Tuesday 19 March and Wednesday 20 March. However, Casualty viewers will have to wait until next Saturday for its next episode.
