BRITAIN’S best-selling new cars from 2018 have been revealed and there’s a clear favourite among drivers.
The Ford Fiesta once again led the pack of most popular cars in the UK after selling almost 96,000 vehicles last year.
The compact car continued it’s reign of dominance as the best-selling vehicle after taking out the title in 2017, according to new figures by Society of Motors Manufacturers and Traders.
The simple hatchback offers great value for money due to its powerful engine and economy.
The Ford Fiesta also topped December sales to round out the figures for 2018, while the Polo ranked in second place for the final month of the year.
The Volkswagen Golf was the second most popular choice overall for UK drivers, selling almost 65,000 models in 2018.
Despite being slightly more expensive than the Fiesta, the Golf is a great all-round vehicle for families and young professionals.
Another small car – the Vauxhall Corsa – was an attractive option for motorists and it’s easy to see why.
The practical vehicle has an attractive £10,735 price-tag and is just as cheap to run.
Families looking for a big extra room turned to the Nissan Qashqai last year, which sold close to 51,000 models.
But it wasn’t the only SUV which made the list.
