The woman accusing Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh of sexual assault has told Senate officials she wants to testify next Thursday — but doesn’t want the judge in the room, a Capitol Hill aide said Thursday.

Lawyers for Christine Blasey Ford were still in talks Thursday night with Senate Judiciary Committee staffers, in hopes of bringing the California college professor to Washington to share her shocking story.

Ford’s lawyer Debra Katz made a five-point proposal for her client to testify next week, according to a Senate aide, who declined to further elaborate.

The attorney raised questions about security that staff said would be provided by Capitol Police.

Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa), the panel’s chairman, had set a 10 a.m. Friday deadline for Ford to agree to testify on Monday.

Ford’s has said she’ll cooperate with the Senate – but only after the FBI investigates her claims.

Republicans have said they’ve bent over backwards to accommodate Ford, offering her the chance to testify in public, behind closed doors or to Senate investigators at her home in California.

Kavanaugh, who now sits on the District of Columbia Circuit Court of Appeals, has vociferously denied Ford’s allegations.
