A FIVE-year-old boy is fighting for his life in hospital after being hit by a car in London this afternoon.
He is suffering from life-threatening head injuries after he was hit at 3.30pm today outside Launcelot Primary School in Downham, near Bromley, south east London.
The woman driving the car has not been arrested.
A Metropolitan Police spokesman said: “A car is believed to have been in a collision with a five-year-old boy outside Launcelot Primary School.
“The child has been taken to a south London hospital. At this time his injuries are being treated as life-threatening.
“The driver of the car, a female, has not been arrested.
A London Ambulance Service spokeswoman added: “We sent an advanced paramedic, an ambulance crew, an incident response officer and a single responder in a car to the scene.
“We treated a child at the scene for head injuries and took them as a priority to a major trauma centre.”
