Boxing pay-per-view king Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez splashes out on a £2.3m Bugatti for his stunning supercar collection

BOXING pay-per-view king Saul “Canelo” Alvarez has splashed out on a £2.3million 2019 Bugatti Chiron to add to his stunning supercar collection.

The middleweight world champion recently gave fans a glimpse at his incredible assortment of motors that now carries a staggering total worth of over £8.3million.

The 28-year-old became boxing’s richest fighter after signing a deal with the sports streaming service DAZN last year.

Canelo penned a £275m 11-fight deal with the company, the biggest contract in sporting history before it was usurped by Baseball star Mike Trout last week.

Now the Mexican redhead has shown where some of that wealth has gone, adding another supercar, which he has named “Smurf”, to his growing collection.

The Bugatti Chiron, which is listed as the fastest road production car in the world in 2019, can reach 0-60 in just 2.5 seconds and has a top speed of 261mph.

The exclusive car, one of only 500 made in the world, means Canelo joins a group of elite celebrities that includes Cristiano Ronaldo in owning one.

Despite its price, “Smurf” will have a tough job dispensing the Mercedes SLS AMG Black Series as the Mexican’s favourite.

Canelo’s Lamborghini Aventador Roadster is a little faster, reaching top speeds of 217 mph and getting to 60 mph from a standstill in just 3.0 seconds.

The Mustang 500 Eleanor, famous for its role in the Nicolas Cage movie Gone in 60 Seconds, has more grunt then velocity and comes in as Canelo’s third favourite motor.

The American classic can reach speeds of 172 mph and get to 0-60 in 4.9 seconds.

The Mercedes-Benz G63 AMG 6×6 is limited to 100 mph – but it’s more suited to off-roading with its six wheels.

And even though the car weighs four and a half tons, it’s still capable of hitting 60 mph in 7.6 seconds.

Last on Canelo’s list of his top five cars, the Ferrari Testarossa was released in 1984 and was a poster car on many teenagers’ walls.

Famous for its role in the TV series Miami Vice starring Don Johnson back in the 80s, the Testarossa has a top speed of 180 mph and can reach 0-60 in 5.2 seconds.

The impressive collection dwarfs the £1.5million haul of rival Floyd Mayweather, despite the undefeated star carrying the nickname “Money.”

Despite this, the 42-year-old still has an incredible garage includes FOUR Rolls Royces – a Phanton worth £355,000, a Phantom Drophead Coupe coming in at £367,000, a Dawn valued at £264,000 and a Wraith costing £364,000.

Add into the mix his limousine Mercedes-Maybach at a mere £172,000 and then topped off in classic fashion with a Ferrari 488 which starts at £238,000 means the total value of the impressive fleet is more than £1.5m.

The two boxers fuelled speculation of a potential rematch when they were both pictured in attendance to watch LA Lakers face LA Clippers earlier this month.
