Boston shooting: Police scramble to ‘active shooter’ inside Natick hotel

Police have responded esponded to reports of an “active shooter” at a hotel on Route 9 in Natick, Massachusetts, in th early hours of Tuesday morning.

Hotel guests have been evacuated from the building as police searched for the suspect.

A perimeter has been put around the building while geusts were evacuated to the Natick Mall across the road from the hotel.

State Police spokesperson Dave Procopio said officers responded to a report of shots being fired at the Crowne Plaza Boston-Natick, at 1360 Washington St.

The hotel is situated around 17 miles west of Boston.

According to Mr Procopio at least one shot was fired and police believe the suspect is inside the hotel.

One person suffering from a minor injury has been found in the hotel, although it is not clear if the person is connected to the incident at this stage.

At 9am GMT (5am EST), police released an update saying: “operations are ongoing at the hotel and surrounding grounds.”

The force said specific details would not be immediately released to protect the security of the unfolding incident.
