BILLIONAIRE gold tycoon James Stunt’s assets have been frozen by the courts – leaving him with just £1,000-a-week to live on, it has been reported.

Stunt, 37, who once bragged about having 200 luxury cars, has been slapped with a ‘proceeds of crime’ order by the Crown Prosecution Service.

Fourteen of his bank accounts have been frozen and he faces a fine or jail if he tries to sell his fleet of cars, which include a £350k Lamborghini, or any of his plush properties, the Daily Mail reports.

Playboy Stunt, who was formerly married to Formula 1 heiress Petra Ecclestone, can’t even soothe the pain with a glass of red from his stocked cellar, which includes Chateau Petrus – worth £10k-a-bottle.

By doing this he would reduce the value of his collection, which he is banned from doing.

Stunt was served with a ‘restraint order prohibiting disposal of assets’ by the CPS, under the Proceeds of Crime Act.

SLAPPED WITH A SPENDING LIMIT

The 17-page order was issued by Judge Sarah Munro QC, at the Old Bailey, on August 29.

Stunt has not been charged with any offence, and it is not clear why the order has been made.

The use of his assets have been restricted and he must not dispose of, deal with or diminish the value of them.

His restraint order has had three minor revisions, to take account of Stunt’s business interests.

The hearing was private and was not reported at the time.

Stunt’s assets have not been seized by the courts but their use has been restricted, the Mail reports.
The order has been subject to minor changes since it was first issued.

In the original order, Judge Munro QC made Stunt, who used to splash out on shopping sprees of expensive paintings at Christie’s, adhere to a £1k-a-week budget.

This order does not prohibit the Alleged Offender from spending up to £1,000 a week towards his ordinary living expenses.

She said: “This order does not prohibit the Alleged Offender from spending up to £1,000 a week towards his ordinary living expenses.”

Stunt hit the headlines when he married Petra back in 2011, after meeting on a blind date five years earlier

The couple tied the knot with a lavish ceremony at a castle in Italy and had three children.

However, their marriage hit the rocks and they settled a £5.5bn divorce in October 2017.

During the divorce hearings, Stunt barged into his father-in-law, ex-Formula 1 supremo Bernie Ecclestone, 86, and called him a “c***”. He is also said to have made a gun gesture in court.

The couple had signed a prenuptial agreement worth £16million, said to cover Stunt’s own assets including a wine collection worth millions of pounds.

But the brash businessman was back under the spotlight in December last year after he told cops thieves robbed £90M worth of cash, gold and gems from his home in Belgravia, London.

Stunt is said to have woken up to find the safe at his Georgian mansion cleaned out.

Among the items said to have been stolen were a £1.5M yellow diamond ring and four blue diamonds worth £5M each.
