Beckie Mullen dead: How did original GLOW wrestler Beckie Mullen die?

Wrestling fans were sad to hear Beckie Mullen died at the age of 55. 

The former wrestler starred as Sally The Farmer’s Daughter on the Gorgeous Ladies of Wrestling show. 

Her career peaked in the 80s and she became well-known, but she sadly lost her battle with cancer. 

Her daughter Brittani Rabay confirmed the news, saying she died earlier in July 2020. 

The star was diagnosed with liver and colon cancer in October 2019 and she had been fighting ever since. 

The disease was at the most advanced stage and her daughter said: “She fought as long as she could.”

She was part of GLOW’s 1986 season and it inspired a Netflix drama which is due a fourth season. 

GLOW said in a statement: “RIP to a GLOW Original! It is with a sad heart that we share the passing of Beckie Mullen (Sally The Farmers Daughter) to our GLOW family. 

She was a spark of energy and will be missed much by her friends and fans.”

 

TMZ also reported the news, saying: “We’ve spoken with several former GLOW wrestlers who worked with Beckie and are devastated by the news. Beckie was clearly well-liked amongst her peers.”

The star was battling with stage four cancer and her family reported the news of her death on Tuesday, July 28. 

Her work inspired the Netflix show GLOW which made its debut on the streaming platform in 2017. 

As well as her TV work, the star appeared in music videos including the Van Halen hit Poundcake.

Another fan said: “It is with a heavy heart I announce the passing of #BeckieMullen who portrayed #SallyTheFarmersDaughter on the original #GLOW #GorgeousLadiesOfWrestling.

“She will never be forgotten and always GLOW in our hearts forever. Truly a fan favorite of many! #FarmersDaughter #GLOWNetflix.”

Fans of the Netflix series GLOW have shown their love for one of the original stars. 

Many viewers said they were “deeply saddened” to hear of her death following her cancer battle.
