BARCELONA president Josep Maria Bartomeu has hinted a deal to sign Liverpool target Matthis De Ligt has already been done.
Liverpool have been tracking the brilliant teenage Ajax defender ahead of trying to take him to Anfield this summer.
The 19-year-old is regarded as one of the best young players in Europe and has already established himself in the Dutch national side.
But Barca chief Bartomue claims he already knows what the future holds for De Light – sparking suggestions the Spanish club have already wrapped up a transfer in a blow for Liverpool.
Speaking to ESPN, he said: “There will be time to speak about him. Each year the club has an interest in making signings and this summer will be the same.
“De Ligt, like the other best players, is on the table.
“He is a great player and a great centre-back. I know what will happen with him but it’s not the moment [to talk].”
Barcelona have already struck an agreement with Ajax this season for one of their young stars, agreeing to pay £65million to sign Frenkie de Jong.
The midfielder will see out the remainder of this season in Amsterdam before moving to La Liga at the start of pre-season.
