But 38 per cent rate themselves good or brilliant in bed — compared with 29 per cent of other fellas.

They are also more likely to cheat. One in three are unfaithful, compared to one in five other men.

The poll also laid bare the torment hair loss brings. Some 33 per cent are very stressed daily — compared with just 14 per cent of men with hair up top.

And 29 per cent say it has left them depressed.

Meanwhile, one in four Brits would be less likely to date someone with a noticeably thinning bonce.

And nearly one in three whose partner is balding wishes they would do something about it. The typical male goes bald at 38. Stress, poor sleep and illness are most commonly blamed, London’s Harley Street Hair Clinic found.

Director Nadeem Uddin Khan said: “We should not underestimate the trauma of losing your hair. Some men may be driven to overcompensate by having affairs to prove to themselves they are still desirable.”
