Right at the end of Avengers Infinity War Thanos managed to successfully turn half of all life to dust. However, did he actually die and then bring himself back with the Infinity Gauntlet? That’s one fan’s theory, claiming he managed to escape the orange soul realm. Reddit user mybustersword writes: “Right immediately after the Snap, Thanos is no longer on earth.”
They continue: “He’s in an orangey realm with a young Gamora, who asks what it cost.
“Here where Thanos was brought, is actually the Soul Stone universe.
“This is the same place theorised that the other individuals who were dusted in the Snap went to.
“It’s only got Gamora and Thanos at this moment because the Decimation originated from the Gauntlet itself, and Thanos was the first one to be judged and he was not spared.”
They added: “However… He is able to leave. Did he use the Gauntlet and the remaining Stones to bring himself back…or was it possibly the Stone judged that somehow he was able to return?
“Regardless, he awakens back on earth in this reality. Thanos did not survive the Decimation but cheated his way out.
“Perhaps the team will learn of this other universe after confronting Thanos, and learning he was brought to the orange realm [means] they will get the idea that others can be brought back as well.”
A popular theory among fans is that the Avengers will time travel through the Quantum Realm in Avengers Endgame.
After all, if they are to reverse Thanos’ Snap the Avengers will need to collect the Infinity Stones from past MCU movies before the Mad Titan did in Avengers Infinity War.
But if the souls of the dead are trapped in the Soul Stone, someone will have to sacrifice someone they love to obtain it, just as Thanos did with Gamora.
Our best bet is Captain America will have to push Iron Man to bring back the dead.
Avengers Endgame is released in UK cinemas on April 25, 2019.
