There is less than a month to go until Endgame finally hits cinemas and explains how the surviving Avengers are going to fix the horrors of Infinity War. Fans are understandably desperate to make sure they are first in line to find out. The internet is awash with rumours but nobody, not even media and film sites actually has the faintest clue what is going to happen. As well as the excitement of being first to see it, fans are also keen to avoid spoilers which will inevitably find their way online as soon as the movie lands.
US sites have started to report that Avengers Endgame tickets will go on sale next Tuesday.
Everybody has picked up on LRM’s announcement: “One of our trusted sources have reached out and told us that yes, tickets will be going on sale for Avengers: Endgame on April 2.”
It seems likely UK cinema will follow suit, capitalising on the expectation this could be the biggest film of the year, likely to eclipse even Star Wars 9 when it lands in December.
Fans in some countries, including the US, will not be as happy to learn they will see the movie two days later than many other territories. But what about the UK?
The film will be released in the US on April 26, with the first public preview screenings taking place the previous evening on the 25th as is the custom over the Pond. Typically these start at 7pm but LRM is reporting they may be slightly earlier at 6pm due to the length of the film, which is now confirmed at 182 minutes.
The film will be released in the UK on April 25. It is not the custom here to have previews the evening before, however, some cinemas will certainly have midnight screenings.
The main issue will be how to avoid spoilers.
Major territories like China, Australia, German and France will go a day earlier on April 24.
With the extreme levels of secrecy surrounding the film shoot and the huge reboot of the entire MCU franchise expected by the end of the movie, everyone wants to know what will happen and some people will be determined to share the news.
Many fans will ‘mute’ certain keywords on their social media accounts to make sure they don’t accidentally see anything beforehand.
