Kane County Sheriff confirmed a large police presence flocked to the scene at the Henry Pratt Company in suburban Aurora. The suspect is still “active” at the firm, located in South Highland Avenue. Officers were called at 2.20pm (local time) to the site, which is located near Holy Angels School. The school is said to be on lockdown while police deal with the situation.

Employees from Capital Printing and Die Cutting, also in the block of 300 units, are also being told not to leave the building.

Witnesses have reported at least 30 SWAT team police raced to the scene.

One told ABC7 News they are hiding in a closet.
