Audi will unveil a brand new electric car at the Geneva Motor Show 2019.
This is the third vehicle the car manufacturer is releasing to wear the e Tron name, which is a title reserved for the company’s electric cars.
Firstly, Audi launched the e Tron SUV which is going on sale this year and then it released the e Tron GT, which is an electric sports saloon coupe which will go on sale in 2021.
The new Q4 e Tron is a smaller compact SUV which will sit below the e Tron SUV in the EV lineup.
Audi states that it will go into production in ‘volume’ in late 2020/early 2021.
The design sketches confirm that the car will be a crossover and blend SUV and hatchback styling.
It is likely to also share a lot of the same design and features of the standard internal combustion engine (ICE) Q4s.
The vehicle will likely have some EV specific design changes including a modified grille, to reduce drag, and a dedicated charging port area.
It also has the illuminated e Tron branding on the bumpers and side sills on the car.
It does, however, have traditional door mirrors opposed to digital cameras which a lot of new concept cars are being given.
Inside the car, there is a large touchscreen and digital driver display central to the dashboard design as well as a lot of chrome elements and bold lines across the cabin.
The vehicle shares a the driver-focused interior of the new Q3 which was recently launched.
