Arsenal player ratings vs West Ham: Five stars get a 5 despite Gunners grinding out win

    Hector Bellerin – 5

Not involved nearly enough going forward and vulnerable defensively too.

    Dani Ceballos – 6

A largely underwhelming display on the Spaniard’s return to the starting line-up but then supplied the assist for the winning goal. Clever movement to ghost into space behind the West Ham defence. Brilliant interception to prevent Sebastian Haller getting a shot away inside the box in stoppage time.

    Granit Xhaka – 6

Struggled to help give Arsenal much control when they needed it in the second half. Picked out Kolasinac with a fine pass in a late chance, but the left-back shanked his cross out for a goal kick.

    Bukayo Saka – 6

Clever pass into space for Aubameyang in the lead-up to Arsenal’s goal and again a neat flick into Ceballos for the second goal. Lost too many one-on-one duels defensively, though.

    Willian – 5

Nowhere near as impactful as against Fulham. Far too many poor first touches. Disappointing performance. Unsurprisingly subbed.

    Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang – 6

Well managed by West Ham, left isolated out wide. Great cross for the Lacazette goal but too often kept out of dangerous areas. Found himself crossing balls from the flanks when he should’ve been in the six-yard box.

    Alexandre Lacazette – 6

His second goal in as many games in the Premier League this season, heading powerfully beyond Lukasz Fabianski. After that not enough of an impact, however.
