ARSENAL fans think they have sussed out why their team are struggling on the road: because the players need it to be quiet so they can concentrate.
The Gunners’ shocking away record continued yesterday as they slipped to a 1-0 defeat at Everton.
It means not only have Unai Emery’s side failed to keep an away clean sheet this season, the club have also picked up just six away league wins since the start of 2018 – and two of those were at Huddersfield.
Their last away win was at the John Smith’s Stadium on February 9 – before that, though, you have to go all the way back to November to find the victory at Bournemouth.
Since that win on the south coast, Arsenal have lost at Southampton, Liverpool, West Ham, Manchester City and now Everton while they have managed draws with Manchester United, Brighton and Tottenham.
So with a total away record of five wins, four draws and six defeats this season, Arsenal are tenth in the ‘Away Premier League table’.
Arsenal Premier League away wins since 01/01/2018
1-0 vs Huddersfield 13/05/2018
3-2 vs Cardiff 02/09/2018
2-1 vs Newcastle 15/09/2018
5-1 vs Fulham 07/10/2018
2-1 vs Bournemouth 25/11/2018
2-1 vs Huddersfield 09/02/2019
Even in other competitions, their record is not great. The Gunners had to overturn first-leg deficits against BATE Borisov and Rennes in the Europa League knockout stages after shock defeats on the continent.
But while their problems away from home show no signs of easing, Arsenal remain formidable at the Emirates, winning 14 and drawing two of their 17 league games there this season.
In fact, only Manchester City – with 48 – have picked up more points in their own backyard than Arsenal.
But fans on Reddict reckon they have got to the bottom of the problem at long last.

Another fan replied: “We’re gonna get tennis atmosphere in the emirates.”
Meanwhile, one suggested to get Speaker of the House of Commons John Bercow – who is actually a season ticket holder at the Emirates – in to keep a lid on things if the decibel levels threaten to rise.
Bercow has become synonymous with his command of “Order!” during MPs’ sessions over the last decade and would no doubt relish the chance to do the same if it helped his beloved Gunners.
