ARSENAL fans are demanding Marc Overmars return to the club after he put together the Ajax squad that stunned Juventus in the Champions League.
The Gunners legend celebrated last night’s heroics by sliding across the Allianz turf in his suit.
Overmars, 46, has been credited with playing a major role in assembling the young side that sent Cristiano Ronaldo and Co crashing out of Europe.
Matthijs de Ligt, 19, hailed as the best young centre-half on the planet by Rio Ferdinand, scored the goal that put the Dutch side in their first Champions League semi final since 1997.
There is also Barcelona-bound Frenkie de Jong, 21, and Manchester United and Arsenal target David Neres, still just 21.
Overmars is director of football at the Johan Cruyff ArenA and has been linked with a return to North London in a similar capacity.
Now fans are demanding it.
