ARSENAL are set to lose out on one of their summer transfer targets, with young Turkish ace Cengiz Under set to move to Sevilla.
Former Roma sporting director Monchi has returned to the Ramon Sanchez-Pizjuan Stadium after being let go by the Serie A club last month.
And according to reports in Turkey, Italy and Spain, Monchi’s first signing back in Seville is likely to be Arsenal target Under, 21.
According to Mundo Deportivo, the Gunners, Spurs, Bayern Munich and Real Madrid are all interested in the right winger, whose contract expires in 2022.
Roma signed Under from Istanbul Basaksehir and he has scored 14 goals in 57 games over the past two years.
Unai Emery is keen on the youngster to bolster his options in attack, but he is currently nursing a thigh injury that has kept him out since January.
Monchi’s return to Sevilla has not escaped the attentions of Arsenal fans, with the Spaniard landing Under, Justin Kluivert, Ante Coric, Javier Pastore and Steven Nzonzi for the Italian club.
But he also oversaw the departures of Mo Salah and Alisson to Liverpool, Leandro Paredes to Zenit St Petersburg, Antonio Rudiger, Emerson Palmieri to Chelsea, Radja Nainggolan to Inter and Kevin Strootman to Marseille.
Roma fans were furious with Monchi after their Champions League defeat at the hands of FC Porto and he was soon sacked, along with manager Eusebio Di Francesco.
Arsenal fans thought he was leaving Roma to join them after the departure of their own flop transfer guru Sven Mislintat, but he returned to La Liga instead.
