“Personally, first, with the type of person he is and what he brings to that dressing room, but then also as a player for what he did throughout his career.
“About the coaching role and the future? We will see what happens.
“Right now, he’s just finished [at Villarreal] so let him enjoy that moment and we’ll see what happens in the future.”
Speaking back in March, Spanish football expert Guillem Balague insisted that a return to north London is unlikely until 2022.
“Basically what may happen, he wants two more years playing. Two more years,” Balague said on his YouTube channel.
“Going back to Arsenal with Arteta is something that I think he will consider as a coach.
“I asked him about it, he said yes, he will consider as a coach when he retires but he wants to play for two more years.
