Apex Legends Season 1 begins tomorrow, March 19, and even includes a full release schedule for players on PS4, Xbox One and PC.
Early patch notes have confirmed that the new Apex update will add the game’s first Battle Pass, as well as new character, Octane.
Things will be kicking off at around 5pm in the UK and 10am PST in the United States, meaning an early start for some.
This will start with an update going live on Apex Legends servers, with no downtime currently confirmed.
This could change as we get closer to the Battle Pass launch but right now, it appears things will be kicking off with the big update.
Following this, players will be able to head over to the Battle Pass tab and purchase the Battle Pass from there.
The new Season pass will cost 950 Apex Coins, meaning you might need to head over to the store first to purchase them.
If players really want to splash out, they can also buy the Battle Pass bundle for 2,800 coins, unlocking the first 25 levels for Season 1 instantly.
The good news is that Season 1 will also come with some free rewards to unlock for those who don’t buy the Battle Pass.
This means that everyone who plays Apex Legends during Season 1 will be able to unlock 1 Wild Frontier Legend skin, 5 Apex Packs and 18 Wild Frontier stat trackers.
The new Season 1 update will also include other changes, as confirmed in recently shared early patch notes.
According to Respawn, they will also be making these changes to the game:
And here’s some other key information to know about Apex Legends Season 1 before the big release date, courtesy of Lead Product Manager, Lee Horn.
“Season 1 is about keeping it focused and allowing players to earn a lot of rewards at a great value (you even get the cost of the base Battle Pass back if you reach level 97). We’ll begin adding more and more innovations each season, as we evolve the Battle Pass.
“Our first Battle Pass is all about letting you continue to learn and experiment with the core Apex Legends experience while earning awesome loot at the same time. You’ll notice the first version isn’t built around a complex quest system where you need to do a 720 backflip off of Watchtower Artemis and get two Wingman headshots before hitting the ground. While we think there’s really cool design space in quests and challenges for future Battle Passes, we wanted the initial version to allow our players to just play and learn the game.
“All of the rewards in the Wild Frontier Battle Pass are exclusive to Season 1 and will never return to the game after the season ends (excluding Apex Packs and the content dropped in them).
“We’ve added a Battle Pass progression bonus tied to playing a variety of characters because we believe true mastery in Apex Legends means being a badass with anyone in any situation at any time. This season is about exploring the new meta and variety of team comps driven by the launch of our first new Legend, Octane.”
