Tagliafico is a reported £8million target for the Gunners as Unai Emery looks to provide competition for the ageing Nacho Monreal and Bosnian ace Sead Kolasinac.

While Barca are believed to be looking to lure him to the Nou Camp, where he could link up with team-mate Frenkie De Jong with the midfielder to join Barca in the summer.

Commenting on the rumours, the Argentinian told Mundo Deportivo: “I am enjoying life and football. We are privileged as footballers.

“Our work is something fascinating and something we love to do. I enjoy playing for the national team and my club.

“I can’t think of what’s coming, that’s disrespectful to my club.”

Speaking specifically on Barcelona, he added: “It’s great that they talk about me, because that means things are going well.

“But I can only focus on the present.”

While Real Madrid are also understood to be in the running for Tagliafico, with the player’s agent insisting Los Blancos have identified him as a replacement for Marcelo.

Richard Schliper said: “Real Madrid have Tagliafico’s name on their list, because Marcelo is off to Juventus. But no one has called me yet.”

Tagliafico has starred for Ajax this season – chipping in with five goals and five assists in 34 games – helping the club reach the quarter-finals of the Champions League.
