SPICE Girls fans across the world have been holding out hope that they will see a reunion of their favourite 90s pop group.
But is the reunion actually going to happen? What's the latest on it? And what's keeping them from getting back together? Here's the latest.

Are the Spice Girls reforming?
There have been a series of back and forths between the girls across the past year to decide whether or not they should get back together.
The plans were first discussed in July 2016, when the three revealed they were planning to reform to mark the 20th anniversary of the Spice Girls’ debut single Wannabe.
Geri Horner, Melanie Brown and Emma Bunton said they were planning to reform under the name GEM with a high-profile gig at Hyde Park in the summer of 2017.
Melanie Chisholm and Victoria Beckham reportedly declined to be involved.
However, in January 2017, Geri, aka Ginger Spice, pulled out after she fell pregnant with her second child at the age of 44 to concentrate on her growing family.
Now that she has given birth to baby Monty, she is reportedly back in line to get back with the group.
Confirming the exciting news, Geri said: “We’re not re-forming immediately, but in the near future.”
The possibility of a reunion, at least in part, was further developed after Mel B split with "controlling" husband Stephen Belafonte.
A source added: “Stephen was always an unnerving presence. Now he’s out of the way, fun will return.”
A leak of track Song For Her in November, by the three girls, which raised excitement that the comeback was gathering pace but nothing has come of it just yet.
Who are GEM?
GEM is an acronym of the three singers' initials – Geri, Emma and Mel – but was not an intended name for the reformed trio.
They would not be able to reunite under the Spice Girls moniker because there are only three of them from the original line-up and reports in August 2016 suggested Mel C threatened legal action against the three as they can’t be the Spice Girls without her.
Victoria – or Posh Spice as she was known in the band – gave the trio her blessings for them to go ahead with the reunion but has banned her former bandmates from performing the Spice Girls’ back catalogue at gigs.
In November 2016, Geri and Emma teased fans by posting a snap of them inside a recording studio with the caption: “In studio, oooooh”.
Later that month, a tune called Song For Her was leaked online much to fans’ excitement.
But Emma, who was known as Baby said it was just something they did for fun and added: “You know, us girls love creating stuff. We went and had a laugh in the studio. It's not a single, it's just we were creating."

What has Victoria Beckham said about a Spice Girls reunion?
Victoria, who is now an internationally-celebrated fashion designer, initially gave her blessing to the trio but wasn’t interested in joining herself.
In October 2016 she told the Sunday Times: “Of course, as a new group, I do [wish them luck].
“I do think they should sing new material, though, because what we did as the Spice Girls was so special.
“If they sang Spice Girls songs, I think I might be a bit sad.”
Emma claimed that Victoria’s husband David would like to see Posh re-join the girls, but Victoria’s feelings were made very clear in January 2017 when she called in lawyers to stop them performing songs from the Spice Girls’ back catalogue.
Some fans them accused her of throwing shade at the trio when she posted a snap to her Instagram of her flicking the V sign with the caption: ““2 become 1 X Kisses VB #girlpower.”
Even though Posh has argued that her band members shouldn't be allowed to perform Spice Girls songs without her, she hasn't exactly stuck by this rule herself.
The fashion designer, 42, is coming out of singing retirement to feature in the popular segment of James Corden's US chat show, which has become a global phenomenon.
However, her recently-divorced band-mate Mel B is said to be livid Victoria is now using the band’s material to promote her own career after instigating the postponement of the Spice Girls reunion earlier this year.

What has Mel C said about a Spice Girls reunion?
After months of discussions with the girls, Melanie C, who was known as Sporty Spice, bowed out because she wanted to focus on her solo stuff and being a mum to daughter Scarlet.
In an interview in August 2016 she said she didn’t think the girls should reunite because their performance on top of the black cabs to close the 2012 London Olympics should be their swansong.
But on January 25 2017, during her early morning appearance on Lorraine, she said she wouldn’t rule out reuniting with the Spice Girls in the future.
What has Emma Bunton said about a Spice Girls reunion?
Baby Spice Emma exclusively opened up to The Sun about the comeback attempt – and said that it was proving difficult to make a reunion happen, even though she was very keen.
She said: “At the moment, it’s so difficult to go: ‘Right!’ Geri has had her baby, and of course has to take that time.
“It’s about finding the perfect time. We want to make it right for our fans. But it would be a shame not to do something."
At the same time, Emma said they would need to get on with the reunion while they still could.
Emma said: “I think it would be great to bring out another album, maybe with our hits on. It would be lovely to show us performing to a whole new generation.
“But we can’t wait too much longer, as we’re all getting on a bit!”
Emma also denied reports that Mel C backing out with the reunion and a legal threat from Victoria Beckham were making it difficult for everyone to get on.
Emma said: “I’m very much each to their own and have your own time. So, for me, there was never any [tension].
“I’m the same. If I’m going to go off and do something that I’ve been dreaming of, then that’s what you do. No one is ever going to know or feel what the five of us went through. We only have each other. So they are always going to be my buddies that I go to, for all those reasons.”
In another chat with The Sun about the potential comeback, Emma went on to admit she still hopes the tour will happen despite the demands of motherhood.
Emma explained: "I hope so, but it’s hard to pin everyone down – we’re doing our own things and we’re all mums. I can’t imagine a tour would happen with the kids at school and everything."
Rex Features Geri announced she was expecting a baby with husband Christian in early October
When did Mel C and Victoria Beckham perform together?
On New Year’s Eve 2016, Mel C jetted out to the Maldives to perform at the Beckham’s lavish party.
Mel was joined by her boyfriend Joe Marshall for the trip, which took place on the Amilla Fushi resort.
And she was joined on stage by Posh as they belted out the Spice Girls hit 2 Become 1 and speaking to Lorraine Kelly, Melanie said: “She explained: "It was amazing.
"I was asked to do a performance at a great resort in the Maldives and it just so happened to be where Victoria and some of my friends were holidaying.
"I told her I was doing the Two Become One in the set and I joked that I had to get her up with me. And she said, 'Yeah, of course'."
She concluded: "Before I started the song, I said this is your last chance and next thing I knew she was sashaying across the dance floor and she got up there with me. It was great fun."
