Who’s on The One Show tonight?

Monica Galetti

Monica Galetti has enjoyed a glittering career as a chef, and goes from strength to strength as a TV personality.

After starting at two-Michelin-star restaurant Le Gavroche in 1999 as a commis chef, she worked her way up to be Michel Roux Jr’s senior sous chef, before departing in 2015.

She was the first woman to land a senior role in the kitchens of the prestigious establishment.

Earlier this year, Monica unveiled her own restaurant – called Mere, in Fitzrovia – with her husband David.

Since 2009, she has been a judge on Masterchef: The Professionals, reducing contestants to gibbering wrecks with her trademark uncompromising high standards.

This year, she also presented the six-part BBC show Amazing Hotels alongside journalist and food critic Giles Coren.

The 47-year-old met Gordon Ramsay when working for Albert Roux at Le Gavroche, and went on to become the foul-mouthed Scot’s sous chef and protege – working with him for 15 years.

Marcus is now the Chef Patron at the two-Michelin-starred Marcus in Knightsbridge, and also runs The Gilbert Scott at the St. Pancras Renaissance Hotel and Tredwells in the West End.

Deborra-Lee Furness has been at Hollywood superstar Hugh Jackman’s side since the mid ‘90s – however she is far more than a famous actor's wife.

The Australian actress and producer is also a campaigner for adoption and does an incredible amount of charity work as well as boasting an impressive film and TV career of her own. Here is all the info…

 Deborra-Lee Furness Deborra-Lee Furness

Who is Deborra-Lee Furness?

Deborra-Lee Furness is an Australian actress and producer and an adoption activist.

She was born in Perth, Australia, on 30 November 1955 and is 13 years older than her husband Hugh Jackman.

Deborra-Lee was raised in Melbourne and studied acting at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts in New York City, graduating in the early '80s.

When did Deborra-Lee Furness marry Hugh Jackman?

Deborra-Lee and Hugh Jackman met in 1995 on the set of her 10-episode Australian television show, Correlli, in which Deborra-Lee played prison psychologist Louisa Correlli.

The couple tied the knot on 11 April 1996 in a ceremony in the Toorak suburb of Melbourne.

Husband Hugh designed the engagement ring he used to propose to Deborra-Lee and their wedding rings carry a Hindu inscription that translates to: “we dedicate our union to a greater source”.

While many would be thrilled to be married to Hugh, Deborra-Lee has said she hates when people say she is ‘lucky’ to be married to the X-Men star.

“That to me is a putdown,” she told the October 2014 issue of Australia’s Woman’s Weekly magazine, adding: “[It's] like you suggesting I won the chook raffle.”

Why did reports wrongly suggest Deborra-Lee Furness and Hugh Jackman were breaking up?

In February 2017, reports emerged suggesting Deborra-Lee and Hugh had been living separate lives following a break down in their 20 year marriage.

A source had claimed to Australia’s Woman’s Day magazine that: “The spark seems to have gone out of their marriage… They’ve been spending a lot of time apart over the past four or five months, and neither of them seems to mind.”

However Hugh hit back at the report to vehemently deny the allegations, with his agent saying: “This story is 100 per cent fabricated.”

Thanks for an awesome 1st night Sydney! #BroadwayToOz

“Take action gives you access to more detailed information about how you can help Adopt Change,” Deborra-Lee says in a video for the organisation, which encourages volunteer work and fundraising as part of their mission to improve the lives of children through faster adoption processes.

The star has suggested there is: “an anti-adoption culture [in Australia]” and says the adoption process Down Under “is not moving fast enough.”

Her campaign work and fundraising on the subject led to her being honoured as the New South Wales Australian of the Year in 2014.

JOOLS Oliver has sent fans wild after sharing a series of snaps of the plush Grade II home she shares with her husband Jamie and their five children on Instagram.

Having splashed out a reported £8.9 million on the property – which is located in the suburbs of Hampstead – it's no surprise the wife of the celebrity chef has been quick to give her followers a glimpse of the opulently bedecked property.

Jools Oliver has been sharing insights into the lavish home she shares with Jamie Oliver and their children on social mediaInstagram Jools Oliver has been sharing insights into the lavish home she shares with Jamie Oliver and their children on social media

The 43-year-old former model set tongues wagging over the weekend when she uploaded a picture of the couple's son Buddy, seven, sprawled out on her lavish Louis XV bed with his boots on.

"That is one hell of a bed!!" one fan remarked, before a plethora of others described the palatial furnishing as being that of "bed goals".

Other snaps show Buddy playing on an antique grand piano in a room that is lined with huge windows and an entire wall filled with photos of the children.

Another picture depicts River Rocket, one, sitting upright in a huge, free-standing bath, complete with a his-and-hers sink, though it's just one of many bathrooms in the property, which also boasts three full bathrooms and two half bathrooms.

After growing out of his first bed, Buddy was recently treated to a £1,895 tree house bed, with a vintage feel running throughout all of the children's bedrooms and playrooms.

Sharing a snap of River's nursery, Jools revealed it had been carefully decorated by a team of interior designers who are based in Denmark.

Admitting it is the room she has the biggest soft spot for, Jools wrote earlier in the year: "My absolute favourite room in the house. Little Rivers nursery ✨ thank you Vivi and Carina @styleplaydk you are so talented, brilliant and lovely your help was invaluable ❤ now I just need to get River out of his little cosy Moses @sebrainterior your cute cots are lovely 🌙xxx."

When it comes to her restaurateur husband, it seems Jamie chooses to work in an environment that is equally relaxed.

Sharing a snap of the celebrity chef – who is worth an estimated £240 million – working hard in the office of the family home, Jamie was pictured sitting against a backdrop of vintage movie posters and Star Wars memorabilia.

Meal times see the family sit around a large solid wood table, while the vibrant living room boasts a table that would be fitting for a medieval banquet – as well as a quirky pink corner sofa.

However, they won't be needing a table quite so large this Christmas, after Jamie revealed he had banned the couple's family from having Christmas dinner at their home after tiring of cooking for 30 people for the past 15 years.

Jools and Jamie moved to their Hampstead home after selling up their Primrose Hill property, which saw them merge two homes together to form a ten-bedroom pad.

What will Carla Connor's return storyline be?

The Sun exclusively revealed earlier this month that Carla Connor will be giving old flame Peter Barlow a dose of his own medicine when she ends up bedding his half-brother Daniel Osbourne.

A source said: "Carla has always been a character who gets what she wants.

“On her return to the Cobbles this Christmas, she’ll really stir things up by sleeping with Daniel, Peter’s half-brother."

They added: "Peter tries to play it like he doesn’t care, but he clearly does and Daniel takes great pleasure in winding him up, knowing their history together."

Who is Alison King?

Alison King is a 44-year-old English actress who is best known for her role as Carla Connor in Coronation Street.

She was raised as a Christadelphian in Leicester and attended the Christadelphian Church at Westleigh.

Alison moved to Newquay when she was 18 before later enrolling at the North Cheshire Theatre School when she was 22.

She managed to bag her first TV role while she was there and played hair salon crimper Helen in Brookside.

Alison appeared in a number of TV series including Cutting It, Cold Feet and Doctors before landing her role in Coronation Street. She also starred as Lynda Block in Dream Team and Rebecca in Help.

Since leaving the cobbles last year she has taken some time off acting.

Who is Alison King's character Carla Connor on Coronation Street?

Carla Connor is a feisty businesswoman who had a number of major storylines in the soap.

This included cheating scandals, gambling addiction, alcoholism and dobbing in her murderer half-brother Rob Donovan (Marc Baylis).

Carla first arrived on Coronation Street in 2006 after inheriting her late husband Paul's (Sean Gallagher) share of Underworld after he died in a car crash.

Paul was the older brother of Michelle (Kym Marsh) and Liam (Rob James-Collier), who he worked with.

Carla and Liam were in denial about their feelings for one another and she ended up marrying Tony Gordon (Gray O'Brien). Meanwhile, Liam married Maria (Samia Longchambon).

The pair ended up having a fling after Liam was left devastated by his the death of his baby son, who was stillborn.

Tony ended up finding out that they had slept together and killed Liam in a hit-and-run.

She later fell for Peter Barlow, a recovering alcoholic, as she began to develop a drinking problem.

However, Peter rejected her to marry Leanne Battersby (Jane Danson) and Carla ended up going out with nasty business owner Frank Foster (Andrew Lancel).

She ended up breaking off their engagement after finally realising that he was just a substitute for Peter. Frank didn't take this well and ended up raping Carla, which led her to attempt suicide.

Carla and Peter later began an affair, which was exposed in court and helped Frank get acquitted. But he met a grisly end when he was murdered by his own mum in the knicker factory.
