Who Is Perrie Edwards? Little Mix Member, Zayn Malik’s Ex And Liverpool Player Alex Oxlade-chamberlain’s Girlfriend

SHE is only 24 but Perrie Edwards hasn’t been left out of the headlines for long since appearing on the X-Factor.

As well as her chart-topping success with band Little Mix she’s bagged herself a footballer boyfriend and is one of the newest “WAGs” on the block.

Who is Perrie Edwards? What was her early life?

Perrie Louise Edwards was born on July 10, 1993.

She was raised in South Shields, Tyne and Wear, to parents Alexander Edwards and Deborah Duffy.

Perrie attended Radipole Primary School in Weymouth, Dorset before moving back to South Shields.

She is a graduate of St. Peter and Paul RC Primary School, in South Shields, and attended Mortimer Community College, also in South Shields, for five years, where she excelled in both academic and performance subjects.

Perrie transferred and graduated from Newcastle College, where she received a BTEC in Performing Arts.

When did she audition for the X Factor and did Little Mix win?

All of the Little Mix girls auditioned on their own for the X Factor in 2011, and didn’t know each other before.

Perrie sang You Oughta Know by Alanis Morissette.

Perrie, along with Jade Thirwall, Leigh-Anne Pinnock and Jesy Nelson, were then put together as four piece by the judges and went on to win the show.

They are the first and, so far, the only group to win the competition.

The group joined the star-studded line-up performing at Ariana Grande’s benefit concert to raise money for the families affected by the Manchester terror attack.

The gig took place on Sunday, June 4 at Manchester’s Old Trafford Cricket Ground.

Was she engaged to Zayn Malik?

She began dating singer and former One Direction star Zayn Malik in May 2012, back when he was still in 1D.

The couple got engaged in August 2013 but broke up in August 2015.

Their relationship was plagued with rumours of him cheating on the pretty singer.

Perrie has also said that he broke up with her via text.

In July 2017, Perrie was accused of changing Little Mix lyrics on stage to insult Zayn’s current girlfriend, Gigi Hadid.

After Zayn and Gigi announced their breakup, Little Mix fans responded by bombarding the former boyband star with karma memes about his treatment of Perrie.

Perrie was engaged to Zayn for two years and dated him for four

What was Perrie’s most shocking revelation about their relationship?

Speaking on Heart radio in October 2016, she was asked what her lowest point with an ex had been.

While she didn’t outwardly say Zayn‘s name, Perrie did reveal: “I think the airport was an interesting one… Remember the airport? I was at the airport and I got an awful phone call, erm, from someone. And then… I just… what did I…? I just remember screaming in the airport.”

Jade Thirwall also gave a bit of input: “She had a little mini-breakdown in the airport. And it was in the security line and so we thought ‘oh god’.”

Leigh-Anne said that they had all “made a little shell” around her “so that no one could see her”, adding: “We were like ‘it’s ok, just let it out’.”

Perrie also admitted: “I was like a woman possessed! It was awful! It just bubbled and bubbled and I thought I was going to explode.”

They had been at a US airport and the singer couldn’t help joke: “That was in America, yeah, oh gosh, yeah! I was either going to get put back on a flight back to the UK or put in a straitjacket!”

PA:Press Association Little Mix are now one of the most successful girl groups in the world

How many albums has Little Mix released?

Since winning the X Factor in 2011 the girls have been busy releasing albums nearly every year.

They have had four albums out so far:

• DNA (2012)

• Salute (2013)

• Get Weird (2015)

• Glory Days (2016)

Perrie is currently dating Liverpool star Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain

Dan Charity – The Sun Declan Donnelly gave Ant ‘lots of hugs’ during an emotional meeting today

A source told The Mirror: “Ant and Dec spoke on the phone but hadn’t seen each other since the car accident, so it was a very emotional meeting.

“Dec gave Ant lots of hugs and reassurances that things would be OK.

The 42-year-old TV host had a summons delivered at his home to appear in court next month after attending a police station to be questioned further by cops over the crash.

He spent just under 60 minutes being quizzed under caution alongside his solicitor yesterday lunchtime before being released.

Rex Features Dec will present the last two episodes of Saturday Night Takeaway alone

Four hours later Ant was sent a “postal requisition” informing him he was charged with driving with excess alcohol — and summonsing him to appear at Wimbledon magistrates’ court on April 4.

Martin Luther King by Trevor McDonald, 9pm, ITV

ITV Martin Luthur King By Trevor McDonald: One of the most absorbing documentaries you’ll ever watch Sir Trevor McDonald interviews inmates on death row in Crime and Punishment

In TV terms, he’s an icon in his own right, but Sir Trevor (right) has always been mesmerised by Martin Luther King Jr.

In this one-off documentary, Trevor travels to Alabama, where the US civil-rights activist faced violent assault, and to the hotel in Memphis, Tennessee, where he was assassinated on 4 April 1968, talking to those who knew him along the way.

Among the most fascinating facts Trevor uncovers is that the words: ‘I Have A Dream’ from his famous speech in Washington in 1963 were off the cuff. One of the most absorbing documentaries you’ll ever watch.

Big Cats About the House, 8pm, BBC Two

BBC Big Cats About the House: A heartwarming three-part documentary

A heartwarming three-part documentary.

Not Going Out, 8.30pm, BBC One

BBC Not Going Out: Trust us when we say you’ll never look at a Furby in the same way after this

Prepare for your toes to curl as Lee Mack’s (above) comedy of errors turns excruciating.

Trust us when we say you’ll never look at a Furby in the same way after this…

Still Game, 9.30pm, BBC One

BBC Still Game: The Clansman shouldn’t be too complacent

This Scottish sitcom’s crude yet gentle humour is an acquired taste, but if you’re a fan you’ll enjoy this week’s walking-football tournament.

Manager Isa devises a Rocky-inspired training regime to whip Winston (Paul Riley, left), Jack (Ford Kiernan, centre) and Victor (Greg Hemphill, right) into shape, and while their rivals may be the decrepit Claymore pub team, The Clansman shouldn’t be too complacent.

Seal Team, 9pm, Sky One

Sky One Seal Team: What should be a simple mission goes wrong from the start

This action-packed 13-part US drama stars Buffy The Vampire Slayer’s David Boreanaz (above) as Jason Hayes, the leader of an elite Navy SEALs military team being helped by CIA liaison officer Mandy Ellis to capture a terrorist in Libya.

But what should be a simple mission goes wrong from the start. High-octane stuff.
