WHAT can't you miss on TV tonight? Our guide to the must-see shows…
NEW! Peaky Blinders, 9pm, BBC Two
BBC Peaky Blinders: This virtuoso season four opener is the best yet
In its first three blistering seasons, Birmingham gangster epic Peaky Blinders has hardly been backwards about coming forwards where nerve-shredding drama and bone-crunching twists of fortune are concerned.
But this virtuoso season four opener is the best yet.
Four hangman’s nooses await the arrival of Shelby family members Arthur, John, Michael and Aunt Polly, and it looks like the deal that gang leader Tommy Shelby (Cillian Murphy, right) struck with the police in season three’s surprise cliffhanger is about to end very badly for everybody.
As if that wasn’t tragic enough, an execution from the past comes back to threaten Tommy and all that he holds dear as the full force of the Mafia arrives on British shores in the shape of sinister hitman Luca Changretta (Adrien Brody).
And if Tommy manages to survive that, then there’s the formidable figure of women’s union activist Jessie Eden (Charlie Murphy) for him to contend with. More of the same next week, please.
NEW! DIY SOS: The Million Pound Build for Children In Need, 8pm, BBC One
BBC DIY SOS: The Million Pound Build for Children In Need: They only have 11 days to do it and, to make matters worse, there’s a storm brewing…
Nick Knowles (above) and the team often claim to be tackling one of their “biggest challenges to date”, but for their annual Pudsey Bear-themed special, it’s actually true.
The gang must build a centre and supported housing in Swansea for young people both in care and leaving care.
They only have 11 days to do it and, to make matters worse, there’s a storm brewing…
NEW! The Secret Life of The Zoo, 8pm, Channel 4
C4 The Secret Life of the Zoo: Surprisingly moving
You may never have expected to become emotionally involved in the sex life of a wasp, but on a return to Chester Zoo, you can’t help but cheer on Ripley the jewel wasp as she expands her species.
There’s bigger baby news too when the staff hold their breath as 20-year-old Kitani, an endangered black rhino, goes into labour. Surprisingly moving.
The Apprentice, 9pm, BBC One
BBC The Apprentice: The teams are tasked with marketing cars, which means it’s time to make TV adverts
The teams are tasked with marketing cars, which means it’s time to make TV adverts – always guaranteed to be hilarious.
Clangers include Graphene getting confused over when the Norman period was, while Andrew (above) is disappointed his role in Vitality’s ad is hardly the action hero.
As for pitching to experts, getting enthusiastic about your campaign’s flaws isn’t the best approach…
Shock in new series of the Apprentice as The Bridge Cafe is dumped as location for losing team to drink tea
