US fighter pilots reveal close encounter with UFO ‘shaped like 40ft tic-tac’ that outpaced their F-18 jets

A MILITARY pilot has told of the incredible moment he chased an alien aircraft “shaped like a 40ft tic tac sweet”.

The cockpit video of retired US Navy pilot commander David Fravor features in a dossier by an ex-US government official.

As the Pentagon released the eerie footage, pilot Fravor has revealed how the UFO he followed had no windows, wings or visible exhaust flume.

It jammed the radar of another F18 fighter jet tracking it and as he flew within half a mile of it, the UFO mirrored his plane’s movements.

Travelling at a speed no known aircraft on earth could reach, the object disappered in “a second” as US fighter jets chased it along the coast of San Diego in 2004.

The remarkable footage captures a glowing whitish oval and a darker orb as the jets, dispatched from the aircraft carrier Nimitz, chase the craft.

One of the pilots of the Navy F/A-18F fighter jets can be heard muttering: “This is a f****** drone, bro,” the New York Post reported.

Another voice says: “There’s a whole fleet of them. It’s rotating!”

The footage was released by the Defense Department’s Advanced Aerospace Threat Identification Program, which spent £16.5 million between 2008 and 2012 to investigate reports from military and commercial pilots of unidentified flying objects.

Parts of their shadowy work – which is still continuing to this day – are classified.

Pilot David Fravor told the New York Times strange objects had been tracked by the USS Princeton for around two weeks.

They would suddenly appear at 80,000ft, before plummeting towards the sea and hovering at 20,000ft. They then either dropped out of range or shot back up.

When he approached the object, it suddenly peeled away.

He said: “It was just moving randomly around – this 40 foot long white tic tac looking thing, with no wings.

“It was a clear day with a blue background and it was perfectly white. We didn’t see any windows, no form of propulsion, nothing, just a big white object.

“It was rounded on both ends and had a cylindrical body which rounded in, same front to back.

“I couldn’t tell what it was made of, it was bright white but it wasn’t reflecting a bunch of light.”

Fravor claimed his colleague was called to the Pentagon six times in the last year to be interviewed about it and wants British scientist Stephen Hawking to analyse the video now it is public.

He later told a fellow pilot: “I have no idea what I saw. It had no plumes, wings or rotors and outran our F-18s. I want to fly one.”

The Pentagon confirmed that the audio and video was investigated as part of the program.

The footage, released in August, showed that the object rotated and maintained a “glowing aura”.

The Advanced Aerospace project was set up at the behest of now retired US Democratic Senator Harry Reid.

It was run by military intelligence official Luis Elizondo on the fifth floor of the Pentagon’s C Ring – deep within the building’s maze – in Washington DC.

The program produced documents that describe sightings of aircraft that seemed to move at very high velocities.

It also reported on aircraft with no visible signs of propulsion, or ones that hovered with no apparent means of lift.
