Spotify users can now buy the make-up their favourite music stars wear… with clever new beauty service

SPOTIFY users can now buy the make-up their favourite stars wear, in a groundbreaking move for the music streaming service.

For the first time ever, the app will allow users to buy beauty products through a singer’s artist page – that of up-and-coming star Maggie Lindemann.

Beauty brand Pat McGrath Labs started selling on Spotify earlier today, in a partnership with Maggie and her new single Obsessed – which is out on Friday.

To buy her favourite products, shoppers simply go onto the artist’s page – and below the Popular section of top songs you’ll see a Merch button.

The make-up on offer will be listed under here. In Maggie’s case, it’s the new LiquiLUST lipstick collection – and a few other Pat McGrath favourites.

Countless musicians are already connected to make-up brands, meaning the possibilities for this to be rolled out are pretty huge.

World renowned make-up artist Pat, who has been described by Vogue as one of the most influential women in the beauty industry, said: “Beauty, fashion and music have been intrinsically linked since the 1960s.

“In this digitally-empowered, digital era of make-up, where fans crave instant glamour gratification I always want to reach fans where they’re most engaged.

“That’s why this relationship with Spotify is absolutely major, because it merges beauty and music in a whole new way, that’s never been done before. I’m thrilled to see it finally come to life.”
