She claimed she was framed by spies working for disgraced film producer Harvey Weinstein, who she claimed raped her.
Weinstein, 66, who pleaded not guilty to rape and criminal sex charges last week, has also been accused of hiring private investigators to smear victims into keeping quiet.
Her lawyer, José Baez, has since told People magazine: “Rose steadfastly maintains her innocence.
“These charges would never have been brought if it weren’t for her activism as a voice for women everywhere.”

Meanwhile McGowan told The New Yorker she felt she was being followed around the time her purse went missing.
She said: “I knew I was being followed and that I wasn’t safe. I even hired a private investigator to investigate whether the warrant was real.
“I had it (the purse) in the side pocket of my backpack, and I left it on my seat as I went to the bathroom. I will clearly plead not guilty.”
In a series of tweets on October 12, 2017, McGowan said Weinstein raped her and Amazon Studios ignored her complaints.

McGowan first made claims about her arrest warrant last month, when she tweeted: “Are they trying to silence me?”
She added: “I told the head of your studio that HW raped me. Over & over I said it. He said it hadn’t been proven. I said I was the proof.”
She turned herself in to Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office, in Virginia, and was freed on £3,750 bail.
McGowan tried to get the charges dropped on the grounds there was a five hour gap between her leaving the wallet and it being found.

She claimed it could have been subject to “underhanded targeting” by Weinstein’s people.
McGowan was one of the first women to accuse Weinstein of sexual assault and dozens have since come forward.
She reportedly reached a settlement with the shamed mogul after a hotel room encounter during the Sundance Film Festival.
