Prince Henrik Dead Aged 83 – Husband Of Denmark’s Queen Margrethe Passes Away

DENMARK’S Prince Henrik has died aged 83.

The prince, who had publicly refused to be buried next to his wife Queen Margrethe, bitter at never being made king, died with his family by his side overnight.

The Royal House released a statement, saying: “His Royal Highness Prince Henrik died peacefully in his sleep.

“Her Majesty the Queen and the couple’s two sons were at his side.”

The royal had been diagnosed with a benign tumour two weeks ago.

Henrik caused a scandal last August by announcing that when he died he didn’t want to be buried next to Margrethe in the cathedral where the remains of Danish royals have gone for centuries.

The queen already had a specially designed sarcophagus waiting for the couple.

He was diagnosed with dementia last year and was hospitalised late last month with a lung infection.

Earlier in the day, Henrik was moved from a Copenhagen hospital to the family’s residence north of the capital, “where he wishes to spend his last moments,” the royal palace said.

Henrik is survived by his wife, sons Crown Prince Frederik and Prince Joachim, and eight grandchildren.

DONALD Trump has blamed the FBI for the Florida school shooting claiming the agency “spent too much time trying to prove Russian collusion”.

The President lashed out at law enforcers saying they “missed all of the many signals” sent by Nikolas Cruz, who is charged with killing 17 people in the Valentine’s Day massacre.

The FBI received a tip last month that the suspect in the Florida school shooting had a “desire to kill” and access to guns and could be plotting an attack.

But the agency admitted that it failed to investigate.

It prompted a sharp rebuke from its boss, Attorney General Jeff Sessions, and a call from Florida’s governor, Rick Scott, for FBI Director Christopher Wray to resign.

The Sun-Sentinel reported that Florida’s Department of Children and Families investigated Cruz in 2016 after calls to a hotline reporting self-harm abuse posts on his social media.

The investigation concluded that he was receiving adequate care from a mental health counsellor and was attending school.

At school, Cruz routinely fought with teachers, was accused of swearing at staff and was referred for a “threat assessment” in January 2017, according to the New York Times.
