NINTENDO held a surprise announcement this week, revealing a whole host of new content for the Nintendo Switch.
The Japanese tech giant said Switch owners will get new goodies from popular series like Super Mario and Dark Souls before July.
Reuters Nintendo’s hugely popular games console is getting some much-needed new content
The announcements included a mix of brand new games, as well as some DLC for existing titles.
The release dates vary, but Nintendo is aiming to ship all of this content to you in the first half of the year.
Here’s what to expect:
The World Ends With You (2018) – This classic action RPG for the Nintendo DS is getting a re-release on the Switch, but there’s no actual launch date just yet.
Hit game Super Mario Odyssey will be getting a brand new competitive mode
Pokken Tournament DX DLC (Jan 31, Mar 23) – This popular Pokemon fighting game is getting two new DLC characters. The first wave lands in January, with a second in March. New additions include Mew and Celebi.
Kirby Star Allies (March 16) – This game was originally announced at E3, but Nintendo has confirmed some “new abilities” for Kirby and co. when the game launches in March.
Hyrule Warriors Ultimate Edition (Spring 2018) – Nintendo is releasing what it calls the “ultimate version” of Hyrule Warriors, the popular Zelda-universe game that we’ve previously seen on the Nintendo 3DS and Wii U.
Mario Tennis Aces (Spring 2018) – Nintendo continues to milk the Mario cash cow, promising a brand new tennis game based on the iconic moustachioed character.

Ys VIII: Lacrimosa of Dana (Summer 2018) – Another re-release sees this well-reviewed RPG finally landing on a Nintendo console.
Super Mario Odyssey Update (February 2018) – In a bid to improve the already-acclaimed Super Mario Odyssey, Nintendo says there’ll be a new mode for people who have completed the main story. The Balloon World will be a competitive mode where your success is ranked in a global leaderboard.
SNK Heroines: Tag Team Frenzy (Summer 2018) – A fresh addition to the SNK series of fighting games, this latest title focuses exclusively on female fighters.
Mario + Rabbids DLC (Spring 2018) – Early Switch hit Mario + Rabbids is getting some welcome DLC, adding Donkey Kong as a character.

Payday 2 (Feb 27) – We’ve known about this port for a while, but Payday 2 is now confirmed for a Switch release on February 27.
