A WOMAN has had a 17lb flap of skin removed from her stomach after she lost half her body weight.
Olga Hernandez, 41, weighed a whopping 28 stone before ditching KFC for healthy, home-cooked meals.

A gastric sleeve operation, alongside exercise, helped her drop seven dress sizes to 13st 7lbs – but the dramatic weight loss left her with a huge flap of skin over her abdomen.
Mum-of-three Olga underwent a skin removal op to remove the flap – and asked nurses to record the moment they lifted it away.
Olga, from Arizona in the US, has shared the stomach churning moment surgeons removed her excess skin in a bid to encourage others to maintain a healthy weight.
She is now recovering from other skin-removing surgery and plans marry fiancé Daryl Auclair, 34, in the slinky dress of her dreams next year.

Olga, a palliative nurse, said: “I felt like I had been hit by a bus after the surgery but it was worth it.
“I would do it over and over and over again.
“I hated the thought of having wedding pictures of me looking chunky and puffy.”
After her weight loss Olga was left with so much excess skin she had to buy clothes two sizes too big just to fit her skin in them.

“My skin had become insanity. I had to tuck and roll and hide and I wore compression garments to smooth it out,” she said.
“I had a terrible top area of skin above the vagina area and I had to wear long shirts to try and cover it up.
“I became insecure and was constantly critiquing my body. I thought it was disgusting. I didn’t want that for my wedding day.”
After the surgery Olga felt like a completely new woman.

“When I first saw the pictures it made me cry. I knew the flap was big but I couldn’t believe it was me,” she added.
“It has been completely life-changing. I’m excited for life now.”
Olga’s weight problems began in her late teens after becoming pregnant at 17.
She also began to comfort eat to cope with depression and traumatic memories of childhood abuse.

In a typical day she would eat a breakfast burrito before gorging on huge KFC meals with sides for lunch and hearty home-cooked dinners like chicken and potatoes.
As well as three massive meals a day Olga munched through six sharing packs of Doritos a week and hoarded food to feed her habit.
At her heaviest she tipped the scales at 405lbs.
Doctors warned she was at risk of developing diabetes, high blood pressure and high cholesterol and told her to lose weight.
In 2013 she overhauled her life and began to lose weight through diet and exercise before having a gastric sleeve which restricted her stomach capacity to 8oz.
On the day of her op, in December 2013, she weighed 27 stone and within six months she had dropped more than six stone.

In April of this year Olga had her first surgery to remove excess skin.
Liposuction and a vertical arm lift removed her “side-boobage” fat and 10lbs from her arms.
Then, on October 28, she had an eight-hour operation in Mexico to remove the excess skin from her stomach.
Her string of surgeries have cost her about £17,900.
“I was very nervous going into surgery. They wheeled me in and the next memory I have is waking up in hospital at 10pm thinking ‘where am I?’,” she said.
“I’m shocked at how tiny I am. I put on a sweater, a size medium, and that was loose on me.
“It is the weirdest feeling in the world. I never ever in the world thought I would be a size medium.”
