Manchester United Transfer News: Real Madrid Reportedly To Smash Transfer Record With £100m Deal For David De Gea

REAL MADRID are ready to test Manchester United’s resolve by offering £100million for David De Gea, according to reports.

The 27-year-old goalkeeper saw a move fall through to join Los Blancos in 2015, with the La Liga giants remaining a firm interest in the Spaniard ever since.

De Gea has just one year left on his current deal at Old Trafford, but the Red Devils are hoping to trigger a one-year option in his contract.

But according to the Manchester Evening News, the Champions League holders believe they are finally in pole position to land the shot-stopper.

They claim that Madrid are ready to break their own transfer record in order to bring De Gea to the Bernabeu to replace Keylor Navas.

Real president Florentino Perez is confident an agreement can be reached with the player – especially with the recent appointment of Julen Lopetegui.

De Gea was the first choice under Lopetegui in the Spanish national team, before he was sacked from his role yesterday three days before their opening World Cup match.

The former Atletico Madrid star failed to rule out a move to Madrid recently, but insisted he remains happy with the FA Cup runners-up.

Speaking to El Partidazo de Cope, he said: “I don’t think Florentino Pérez has my number. I don’t know if I’ll be the goalkeeper at Real Madrid.

“What I do know is that I’m very happy in Manchester. What I want is to win titles, like every other player.
