LEE Rigby’s mum has posted a heart-breaking tribute to her son on the fifth anniversary of his brutal murder.

Dad-of-one Lee, 25, was slaughtered by Islamic fundamentalists Michael Adebolajo and Michael Adebowale with knives and meat cleaver on May 22, 2013.
Five years on from his horrific death, Lynn has spoken of her anguish and the daily struggle of coping with his passing.
She wrote on Facebook: “I didn't know it was possible for the human heart and soul to survive such searing pain and loss but against the odds I am still here even though life is now very different.”
Lynn added: “I thought I was going to die of a broken heart.

“It's been five long years and by some miracle, I'm still here.
“I've cried an ocean of tears, stayed awake too many nights to remember just sobbing for Lee and wishing someone would take the pain away and make things different.
“But nothing could bring Lee back.”
Writing on the Lee Rigby Foundation page, a charity set up for the families of veterans, Lynn described her son as a man with a “beautiful, kind, loud and larger than life nature” who loved his family.
Lynn said: “Before he was killed, I was just so thrilled as he was the happiest I had ever known him. and he adored his young son Jack.
“He was so proud to be a soldier in the British Army and was devoted to me, his dad Ian and his beloved sisters Sara, Chelsea, Courtney and Amy.”

Others have paid their respects to the fallen army drummer by leaving flags, floral tributes and written letters at the scene of his death.
Veterans were seen riding past on motorbikes or standing together as they took a moment to remember Lee this afternoon.
Lee was attacked as he returned to his barracks after work at around 2.20pm.
Adebolajo and Adebowale had circled the base for an hour hunting for a victim and spotted Lee as he crossed the road wearing a bright ‘Help 4 Heroes’ hoodie.
They mowed him down before leaping out of their vehicle and hacking away at his body with an attack so fierce they almost decapitated him.

Then they dragged his body into the road, where brave passer-by Ingrid Loyau-Kennett tried to shield him from further blows.
Adebolajo told onlookers to call the police and urged them to film him as he launched into a rant, his hands soaked in Lee's blood.
The pair waited for armed cops to arrive, then charged at the patrol car hoping to be martyred. They were both shot and injured.
