It Support Workers Reveal Most Bizarre Things They’ve Found On People’s Computers – From Cockroaches To Cartoon Smut

Published

IT SUPPORT people are exposing all the dodgy stuff they’ve found while fixing frazzled computers – from mounds of Japanese cartoon smut to a cockroach-infested PC.

The computer technicians are dishing the dirt as part of a Q&A session on Reddit that’s amassed over 2,700 comments in less than 24 hours.

One of the top-rated posts details the staggering popularity of Hentai porn: a subgenre of Japanese anime that features illustrated characters in sexually explicit scenarios.

“Soooooo much hentai. Hentai desktop, hentai videos, hentai games, hentai manga, hentai pictures,” wrote Reddit user IcarusFlyingHigh.

“[The computer’s owner] brought it in because he thought he had a virus. I was polite and didn’t really react or say anything when I first saw the desktop wallpaper. I still can’t believe somebody can be so nonchalant about such a massive porn collection.”

Pornhub recently said that Hentai is the second most-searched term on its smut site, revealing just how far the genre has come from its niche Japanese roots.

Another IT boff detailed a barmy incident involving a bunch of broken school laptops and a computer-illiterate teacher.

“I do IT support for a school and had a teacher call me one day as 17 of the Laptops the students use all stopped working at the same time,” explained K3nada.

“The teacher claimed that we must have rolled out an update that had broken all the machines so was irate that we fix what we did now!! As she couldn’t teach without [them].

“Only when I got ahold of the Laptops…did I learn the teacher had them all working outside on a rainy day studying weather etc.”

Then there was the female customer who liked to take secret holiday pics of a certain part of the male anatomy in swimming trunks.

“User departing the firm, recent manager in her late twenties, asks to retrieve her personal images,” wrote Crustythefart.

“She traveled a lot to tropical places and [had] an entire folder dedicated to candid photos of guys junk in swimsuits.”

Other tech ninjas described some of the hazardous conditions that come with the job, including dealing with vermin.

“Worst thing I’ve found? Some species of worms. TONS OF THEM,” said Dragon Sky Music.

Meanwhile Reddit user DR-Flopper came across a “dead mouse”.

But the worst case of computer infestation came from user Lord_heimdal.

“One day a customer walks in with an old PC that looked heavy, I took it to the back of the store and went back to the customer to ask a few questions when we suddenly hear my coworker scream really loud,” he said.

Snapchat Adds A Virtual Pet – And Reveals Amazing Perk For Three Customers

Published

on

SNAPCHAT has added its first-ever augmented reality pet – a virtual companion called Puggerfly.

And the app’s creators also revealed that using Snapchat will no longer eat up mobile data for certain Three customers.

Snapchat You can find the fabulous Puggerfly in Snapchat right now

Both announcements were made in partnership with the UK mobile network.

Puggerfly is a winged dog that will star in Three’s new TV ad.

And the magical mutt will be available within Snapchat, letting you place a virtual version of Puggerfly into your Snapchat photos and videos.

This augmented reality, or AR, tech means you can create hilarious Snaps of yourself walking your half-pug, half-butterfly pet.

Snapchat AR tech will let you embed Puggerfly into the real world around you

“Millions of people play with augmented reality every day on Snapchat and we think they’ll adore Puggerfly,” said Snapchat’s Claire Valoti.

“Each day they’ll find a new Lens in the carousel that day-by-day builds their relationship with their new AR pet over the course of a week.

“It’s the first time a brand has used multiple Lenses in this way to tell a character-driven story and we think it’s very powerful.”

Puggerfly will only be available to Snapchat users from April 26 for seven days.

And you don’t need to be on the Three network to get access to Puggerfly.

But you will need to be a Three customer to take advantage of the zero-data-usage access to Snapchat.

Using Snapchat can rack up some serious mobile data usage – from downloading Stories and uploading videos, it can be quite a drain.

Last year, Three launched Go Binge, a scheme that means means using some specifically chosen services won’t eat into your monthly data allowance.

Currently, eligible Three customers can use Netflix, TVPlayer, Apple Music, SoundCloud and Deezer without using up data.

And now Snapchat has been added to the roster of services too.

“We have always been famous for encouraging people to share all types of content with friends and family as it’s such an integral part of everyday life,” said Three’s Shadi Halliwell.

“We also know that our customers love chatting, creating and sharing pictures or videos on their mobiles and the fact our customers use more than three and a half times more data on our network than any other, is testament to this.”

There’s a catch, though.

You’ll need to be a Go Binge eligible customer on 12GB+ Advanced Plans or a 4GB Advanced Plan.

Until now, Stories were a a bit of a pain to upload.

You’d have to manually insert every single pic or clip individually, restarting the process for each piece of content.

But a new Instagram app update changes all that.

The bad news is that it only works on Android phones right now, but it’ll land on iOS (so iPhones and iPads) in the coming weeks.

Uploading multiple stories is easy.

When you go to upload content to your Story, there’s now a new icon in the top right of your screen.

Tap it and you’ll be presented with your phone’s image gallery.

From there, you can select up to a maximum of 10 photos and videos.

Next, you’ll see a preview of how it looks, and you’ll be able to make edits before sending it live.

That means you can add text, stickers or filters to individual photos or videos before they upload.

Once you’re done, you’ll be able to send them all to your Story in one great big rush.

A recent update also made it possible to download all your Instagram photos in one go.
