Human rights organisation Redress and her husband Richard have now urged the UN to investigate the case, saying her treatment “amounts to torture”.

The letter also claimed that she had been put in a “situation of complete powerlessness”.

The jailed mum’s husband, who has constantly campaigned to have her released from her wrongful imprisonment, has also spoken out, saying he hoped it would be a way to bring her home.

Speaking to the Daily Mail, Richard Ratcliffe said: “I think we have passed the threshold where Nazanin’s treatment is torture. These psychological games remain ongoing.

He said it had been an extra blow after hoping his family would be reunited in time for Christmas – but was left waiting.

Speaking on the morning show, he said: “It feels like we have waited for long enough.”

DONALD Trump has blamed the FBI for the Florida school shooting claiming the agency “spent too much time trying to prove Russian collusion”.

The President lashed out at law enforcers saying they “missed all of the many signals” sent by Nikolas Cruz, who is charged with killing 17 people in the Valentine’s Day massacre.

Writing on Twitter, he said: “This is not acceptable. They are spending too much time trying to prove Russian collusion with the Trump campaign – there is no collusion.

The FBI received a tip last month that the suspect in the Florida school shooting had a “desire to kill” and access to guns and could be plotting an attack.

But the agency admitted that it failed to investigate.

It prompted a sharp rebuke from its boss, Attorney General Jeff Sessions, and a call from Florida’s governor, Rick Scott, for FBI Director Christopher Wray to resign.

The Sun-Sentinel reported that Florida’s Department of Children and Families investigated Cruz in 2016 after calls to a hotline reporting self-harm abuse posts on his social media.

The investigation concluded that he was receiving adequate care from a mental health counsellor and was attending school.

At school, Cruz routinely fought with teachers, was accused of swearing at staff and was referred for a “threat assessment” in January 2017, according to the New York Times.
