How Old Is Jennifer Saunders, Who’s Her Husband Ade Edmondson And What Shows Has She Made With Joanna Lumley And Dawn French?



IT WOULD be hard to find someone who didn’t know who Jennifer Saunders was, thanks to her successful career as a comedy actress.

But just how did she become famous? And what TV shows has she been in? Here is what we know…

Who is Jennifer Saunders? What is her background?

Jennifer Jane Saunders, 59, was born July 6, 1958 and is an English comedian, screenwriter, and actress.

She has won three BAFTAs, an International Emmy Award, a British Comedy Award, a Rose d’Or Light Entertainment Festival Award, two Writers’ Guild of Great Britain Awards, and a People’s Choice Award.

She shot to fame in the 1980s when she became a member of The Comic Strip after graduating from the Central School of Speech and Drama in London.

With her comedy partner Dawn French, Jennifer wrote and starred in their eponymous sketch show, French and Saunders.

In the 90s Jennifer received worldwide acclaim for writing and playing the lead role of Edina Monsoon in the BBC sitcom Absolutely Fabulous – alongside Joanna Lumbley.

In 2015, she voiced Queen Elizabeth II in Minions, and in 2016 she voiced Nana Noodleman in the  musical film Sing.

She reprise her role of Edina for the 2016 Ab Fab Movie.

Dawn French Has Not Quit Tv Or Comedy Amid False Rumours She Has ‘no Roles Lined Up’



DAWN French has hinted she’s quit comedy – as she has no roles lined up this year.

The 60-year-old star has become one of the nation’s best loved stars thanks to her work on The Vicar of Dibley and French and Saunders.

But her fans will be disappointed to hear Dawn isn’t as keen at being in front of the camera as she once was and wouldn’t care if she never acted again.

Speaking to the Daily Star, she said: “I do very little in front of the camera these days.

“I’ve got no desire to do jazz hands any more.

“I wouldn’t be sad at all if I never acted again.

“In fact, when I get a script, my first thought is ‘Oh, I hope this is no good, because it’ll make it easier to say no’.”

However a representative for Dawn dismissed the notion Dawn had quit TV altogether, telling The Sun Online: “Little Big Shots started a new series on ITV last night and it’s already been announced that Delicious is returning to Sky One for a third series later this year.”

Dawn’s last foray into comedy was with TV partner Jennifer Saunders, with the pair recording a TV special last year to mark their 30th anniversary.

But Dawn revealed: “There are no immediate plans for more because we are booked up into next year.”

When is her autobiography coming out?

In December 2017, Sinitta confirmed to the Sun Online that she would be releasing a ‘juicy tell-all autobiography’:

“I have an album coming in the new year, really exciting- AND a book!

“So look out for that. It’s an autobiography. It’s really juicy and a long time coming, but it’s coming!”

The book doesn’t’ yet have an official release date but its working title is ‘Who Put The Sin in Sinitta?’

Eastenders’ Richard Blackwood Contemplated Suicide As He Hit Rock Bottom After Going Bankrupt



RICHARD Blackwood contemplated suicide as he hit rock bottom after going bankrupt.

The actor has revealed he lost hope after he was left jobless and penniless.

Richard Blackwood has said his final EastEnders scenes were his final scenes

Richard, 45, said work had dried up and he “lost everything” – and the pressure was almost too much to bear.

He told OK! magazine: “I had lost everything and I went bankrupt.

“After that I got blacklisted by the industry – no work was coming.

“Everybody turned against me.

“I’m such a strong person and looking back it’s hard to believe I was in that place. But it showed me that things can really accumulate and break you down.”

He has now made a huge career comeback after landing the role of Vincent in EastEnders, but he’s now moving on to new career opportunities after bowing out of the BBC One soap on Friday.

His exit came as his character Vincent was seen having a gun held to him by fake cop DI Alsworth.

And while viewers hoped the ambiguous scene meant Vincent survived, Richard has confirmed that he’s done with the show.

BBC Vincent decided not to be a police informant any more, but it was too late read more in this week’s OK! magazine

He told OK! that when they yelled cut on his final scene it was “a wrap for good”.

It comes after he hinted Vincent Hubbard could still be alive despite the cliffhanger ending.

The character had a gun pointed at him by fake cop DI Alsworth at the end of the episode, with Vincent appearing resigned to his fate before the screen went black and the famous ‘duff duffs’ began.
