Heartbreaking Reason Princess Diana Refused To Wear Chanel After Her Divorce From Prince Charles… And It’s All About Camilla

THE reason Princess Diana wouldn’t wear Chanel after her divorce from Prince Charles has been revealed – and it’s absolutely heartbreaking.

In an interview with Harper’s Bazaar, Australia, the designer Jayson Brundson discusses working with Diana in 1996 – and revealed she called Charles and Camilla “the double C”.

Mr Brundson revealed he offered the Princess a pair of Chanel shoes to wear with a Versace suit while styling her in 1996, the same year the couple’s divorce was finalised.

But, she refused – and the reason why is heartbreaking.

He said: “I found a pair of Chanel shoes, and I said, ‘well these would look great with the Versace’ and she said ‘no, I can’t wear linked Cs, the double C’.

“So I asked why, and she said, ‘it’s Camilla and Charles’.” The Chanel logo is two C’s.

He went onto add she agreed to wear a pair of Gucci shoes, which she was happy with.

The wedding of Lady Diana Spencer and Charles, Prince of Wales, took place on Wednesday July 29, 1981.

They tied the knot at St Paul’s Cathedral and the ceremony was a traditional Church of England wedding.

The Princess’ divorce from Prince Charles was finalised in August 1996, four years after they split.

He went on to marry Camilla at Windsor Castle in April, 2005.

Tomorrow Prince Charles will walk Meghan Markle down the aisle.

The US actress’ dad had pulled out of tomorrow’s ceremony – unable to attend after undergoing heart surgery.

The statement from Kensington Palace said: “Ms Meghan Markle has asked His Royal Highness The Prince of Wales to accompany her down the aisle of the Quire of St George’s Chapel on her Wedding Day.

“The Prince of Wales is pleased to be able to welcome Ms Markle to the Royal Family in this way.”
