DECLAN Donnelly revealed Saturday Night Takeaway has been “tinged with sadness” as he paid tribute to Ant McPartlin once the cameras had stopped rolling tonight.
The 42-year-old presented alone for the second time ever tonight and while he didn’t mention his troubled partner, 42, during the show, his affection for him was clear as he addressed the audience following the successful finale.

In The Sun Online’s exclusive video Dec told the crowd: “Thanks for all the love and support, it’s been a series tinged with… well…”
As Dec struggled to find the words, someone yelled from the audience: “We miss Ant!”
To which Dec replied: “Yes, we do, we do. It’s tinged with sadness.”
Then in a show of support for Ant, he asked: “Can you all give a one round of applause for Ant who is at home.”
ITV He revealed he ‘missed’ his troubled co-host
The audience then broke out into a rapturous applause.
Clearly moved Dec said: “Thank you so much, I know he will appreciate that a great, great deal.”
Ant stepped down from TV commitments following his drink driving arrest last month and has since returned to rehab to battle alcoholism.
The performer was still featured in tonight’s comedy sketch and an insider told The Sun Online that Dec looked “emotional”.

Our source said: “When Ant appeared in the comedy skit, Dec looked emotional as he watched on from the side of stage.”
Dec moved viewers to tears tonight when he opened the show with a performance of Everybody Needs Somebody without Ant McPartlin.
He sang the poignant Blues Brothers’ song as he presented for the second time ever without Ant, and emotional fans were certain there was a message for his troubled best pal in there.

Who is Cuba Gooding Jr. and who’s his former partner Sara Kapfer?
Cuba Gooding Jr. was born in The Bronx, New York, on January 2, 1968 – that makes him 50.
In 1996, he won the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor for his role as Rod Tidwell in Jerry Maguire. His “Show me the money!” line in the film became a catchphrase across the world.
Cuba’s first job in showbiz was as a breakdancer – a gig that saw him perform with Lionel Richie at the closing ceremonies of the 1984 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles.
Gooding Jr. married his high school sweetheart, Sara Kapfer, in 1994 – and the pair have three children together.
However, in 2014, Kapfer – a teacher – filed for legal separation from Gooding and the actor filed for divorce in January 2017.
Gooding hasn’t commented publicly on the divorce, but he talked about his relationship during a 2016 interview on The Steve Harvey Show.
He said: “Listen, you know how things happen. Things happen, you grow up … I took my wife on a date the other day. Took her to see a movie the other day. Yeah. We got kids, man. We got to keep this together, strong, you know? That’s how I see it.”

How old is Bill Roache and what is his background?
Born in Nottinghamshire in April 1932, Bill Roache is a 85-year-old TV actor.
He joined the British Army in 1953 and left in 1956 after reaching the rank of captain. An exploding mortar round left Bill with tinnitus.
Before joining Coronation Street, Bill landed the lead role in a televised play called Marking Time, although it wasn’t broadcast until a year after his Coronation Street debut in 1960.
Bill’s had two children with his first wife Anna Cropper. Eldest son Linus Roache is also an actor. Bill and Anna also had daughter Vanya, born 1967.
Sadly, Vanya passed away at the age of 50 on March 4 2018, due to liver failure and he was granted compassionate leave from the soap.
He returned to the soap’s set on March 13 2018 and was warmly embraced by co-stars as he returned to the cobbles.
Bill remarried Sarah Mottram in 1978 and together they had three more children, Verity, James and Edwina.
Tragically, Edwina died aged just 18-months-old due to bronchial pneumonia.
Bill’s wife Sarah Mottram also died suddenly in 2009 at the age of 58.

Bill is best known for holding down the role of Ken Barlow in Coronation Street since 1960, landing him in the Guinness World Records book as the longest-serving male television star in a continuous role.
Ken Barlow has a reputation on the iconic street as being a womaniser after racking up four marriages and dating 27 women between 1960 and 2007.
His scenes with Deidre Hunt stole the show with their first and second weddings both getting more viewers than the royal wedding between Prince Charles and Princess Diana.
