ATLETICO MADRID will make a move for Dries Mertens next summer if Antoine Griezmann leaves the club, according to reports.
The France international forward spent much of the summer being heavily linked with a big-money move to Old Trafford, before a transfer embargo prevented the move.

Griezmann’s predicament became one of the biggest talking points of the transfer window even though United ultimately signed Romelu Lukaku from Everton.
The 26-year-old eventually stayed at the Vicente Calderon and signed a new deal which commits him to Atletico until 2022.
It is believed that agreement has bumped his minimum transfer fee up to around £175million.
Spanish news outlet, AS, claims that if Griezmann leaves the Spanish capital after the World Cup, Atleti will look to sign Mertens as a replacement.
