Atlanta Falcons vs Philadelphia Eagles: No 1 seed head into NFL playoff clash as outsiders against red-hot Falcons

THERE haven't been many games in history where the No 1 seed head into the play-offs as underdogs.

Philadelphia begin their play-off campaign in front of their passionate home fans after a first-round bye and the best regular-season record in the NFC.

But they do so with serious doubts about their offence and in particular quarterback Nick Foles.

The 28-year-old just hasn't looked good since stepping in for the injured Carson Wentz in Los Angeles last month.

After four touchdown passes against the lowly New York Giants in week 15, Foles ended the season with just one more in his last two games.

You can watch the NFL playoffs on Now TV with prices starting at £6.99 for a Sports Pass. Or you can catch all the action on NFL Gamepass.

He was pulled in week 17 against the Dallas Cowboys after just four completions for 39 yards and an interception.

The last thing Philadelphia want to see, then, is one of the most talented offensive groups in football and a team with Super Bowl pedigree clicking into gear at the right time.

Matt Ryan and Co were simply too good for the Los Angeles Rams in a 26-13 victory in the Wild Card Round.

It was impressive showing from a team demonstrating how to respond to adversity and how to win on the road.

Many teams would have crumbled after losing the Super Bowl the way these Falcons did last year.

WHO'S THE GOAT? Tom Brady, Brett Favre, Joe Montana… who is the best NFL quarterback ever?

That overtime loss in Houston from a 25-point lead lived with Atlanta all year up until this point.

Inconsistency, losing their offensive co-ordinator and moving home meant Atlanta almost didn't make it back to the play-offs but for a week 17 win over Carolina.
