It’s the worst possible news for boss Unai Emery who would have been hoping to hit the ground running as Arsenal manager.

And fans understandably share his frustration as they aim to force their way back into the top four.

One said “RIP Arsenal in August” and another bluntly wrote: “Season over.”

One supporter sarcastically commented: “Oh what a lovely start we have. Cheers to whoever arranged these!”

Others are more optimistic about Arsenal’s start and believe it could be a blessing in disguise.

Finding the positives, a fan said: “Good. Our first true test against a top side. Why is everyone on here worried?”

Another said: “Ideal fixture, loads of Man City players out due to not being ready after World Cup.”

After facing Chelsea at Stamford Bridge, Arsenal then play West Ham at home, newly promoted Cardiff away and then Newcastle.
